Mary Jane George Rieth, 92, a prominent Indiana conservationist and philanthropist, died Wednesday, Dec. 31 at her home in Goshen.

With National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national tournaments wrapping up across the country, the Goshen College Athletic Department continues to get rewarded for its outstanding fall season on and off the court, field and course. A Maple Leaf program record 27 student-athletes were recognized as NAIA-Daktronics All American Student-Athletes this week as part of national championship play.

Goshen College music ensembles celebrate Christmas with the annual A Festival of Carols concert December 1, 2008
Goshen College will present its fifth annual musical celebration of Christmas, A Festival of Carols, on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. This special celebration of the holiday season will feature five choirs, orchestra and brass ensemble, along with audience participation on traditional carols, all in a concert hall festively decorated with garlands, lights and trees.

Goshen College alumna Kristi Glick '97 and local artist Anne Binder will present an art exhibit that will include Glick's jewelry and Binder's calligraphy in Goshen College Music Center's Hershberger Art Gallery. There will be a reception for their exhibit on Sunday, Nov. 23 from 2 to 4 p.m. The exhibit will run until Jan. 18, 2009.
Goshen College faculty trained to deliver presentation on climate change and faith November 19, 2008
Bob Yoder, Goshen College campus pastor, and Paul Steury, education coordinator at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College, were among the first group personally trained by Nobel Laureate Al Gore to spread the message about the challenges of and solutions to the climate crisis in the faith community.

The public radio station in Elkhart, Ind., WVPE-88.1 FM, has selected essays by three Goshen College students to air the Tuesdays between Nov. 11 and 25 on the 'This I Believe' segment of its program. All of the pieces are scheduled to air at 7:35 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m.
