Writing & Citing

Style Guides

Information in research papers and other writing that is borrowed from other sources must be documented. This includes quotations, summaries, paraphrases, or any facts or ideas that are not common knowledge. Disciplines each have their own style for documenting sources, usually one of these five styles:

• APA - American Psychological Association
• MLA - Modern Language Association
• SBL - Society of Biblical Literature
• Turabian
• Chicago
• ASA - American Sociological Association

Annotated Bibliography
